Bio: Dr. Alford is an Associate Professor of Church History and Doctrine. He served as an active duty Army officer for 29½ years, retiring in the rank of Colonel. While in the Army, he taught at the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York and the National Defense University in Washington, DC. After serving in the England Bristol Mission, he earned a B.A. from Brigham Young University (1979), an M.A. from the University of Southern California (1982), a Master of Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (1988) and a Ph.D. from George Mason University (2000). He taught seminary and institute as a CES volunteer for many years. His latest book, Civil War Saints, was published in 2012. Ken and his sweetheart, Sherilee, have four children and nine grandchildren.
