Bio: Matthew O. Richardson is an associate professor of Church History and has been a faculty member at Brigham Young University since 1996. He teaches courses on the Doctrine and Covenants, The Living Prophets, and LDS Marriage and Family Relations. Richardson served as Associate Dean of Religious Education from 2002-2006.  He the recipient of the Robert J. Matthews Teaching award, selected by students to receive the Professor of Integrity award, and held the Religious Education fellowship for four years. Richardson taught with the Church Educational System (CES) from 1986–1993 and then taught as an instructor in Religious Education at Brigham Young University from 1993–1996 while completing his graduate degree. Richardson received a doctoral degree in Education Leadership from Brigham Young University, a M.Ed. in Educational Leadership and Curriculum from BYU, and a B.A. in Communications also from BYU. He is a member of the Golden Key Honor Society. Richardson is married to the former Lisa Jackson of Seattle, Washington, and they are the parents of four children (Zachary, Megan, Lauren, and Tyler).
