BYU 2016 Easter Conference
Prepare for Easter by bringing someone to this year's BYU Easter Conference on Good Friday, March 25, at 7 p.m. in the Joseph Smith Building auditorium on BYU campus.
The keynote speaker this year will be Sheri Dew. Sheri Dew is executive vice president of Deseret Management Corporation and CEO of Deseret Book Company. She is a thirty-year veteran of the publishing industry and has authored a number of best-selling books, including the biographies of two Presidents of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints: President Gordon B. Hinckley and President Ezra Taft Benson. She served as a counselor in the general presidency of the Relief Society of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1997 to 2002. In March 2003 the White House appointed her as a member of the US Delegation to the Commission on the Status of Women at the United Nations.
Other speakers include Daniel Judd and Eric Huntsman.
Daniel K Judd is professor of ancient scripture at Brigham Young University. He has been the chair of the Department of Ancient Scripture and is presently the associate director of the Consortium for Spiritually Centered Psychology and Education at BYU. He received his MS in family studies and PhD in counseling psychology both from BYU. Brother Judd recently served as the president of the Ghana Accra Mission in West Africa. He has served on the board of directors for LDS Family Services and is currently on the board of review for Deseret Book. He and his wife, Kaye, are the parents of four children and 8.5 grandchildren.
Eric D. Huntsman received a BA in classical Greek and Latin from Brigham Young University; an MA in ancient history from the University of Pennsylvania; and a PhD in ancient history from the University of Pennsylvania. Brother Huntsman has taught classics and ancient history at BYU. After spending a year teaching at the BYU Jerusalem Center, he was appointed as the coordinator of the Ancient Near Eastern Studies program. A specialist in the New Testament, he publishes primarily on the Gospels and the life and ministry of Jesus Christ.
