Bio: Matthew O. Richardson is the Advancement Vice President of Brigham Young University.  In addition to university administration, Richardson oversees Athletics, BYU Broadcasting, LDS Philanthropies, Alumni and External Relations, and University Communications.  Prior to university administration, Richardson was a professor of Church History and Doctrine, where he taught courses on the Doctrine and Covenants, The Living Prophets, and LDS Marriage and Family Relations. Richardson served as Associate Dean of Religious Education from 2002-2006.  He was selected by students as the Professor of Integrity award, received the Robert J. Matthews Teaching Award, and Brigham Young University’s Circle of Honor Award.   Richardson held the Religious Education fellowship for four years.  He received a doctoral degree in Education Leadership from Brigham Young University, a M.Ed. in Educational Leadership and Curriculum from BYU, and a B.A. in Communications also from BYU. He is a member of the Golden Key Honor Society. Matthew O. Richardson is married to the former Lisa Jackson of Seattle, Washington, and they are the parents of four children (Zachary, Megan, Lauren, and Tyler). He has served as a counselor in the General Sunday School Presidency (2009-2014) and is currently a Stake President.
