Biography

David B. Ridge is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Ancient Scripture and affiliate faculty of Ancient Near Eastern Studies, a religious educator, and a scholar of the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament). He received a PhD in Bible from the University of Chicago, an MA in Ancient Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Chicago, and a BA in Ancient Near Eastern Studies from BYU. His academic research explores the texts of the Hebrew Bible with particular interest in biblical narrative, characters and characterization, the evaluation of the coherence of biblical texts, Biblical Hebrew language and linguistics, the Book of Job, and the Pentateuch.
