Biography
Duane K. Dougal was born in San Diego, California, and has lived in Kentucky, Washington state, the Bay Area of California, Texas, Idaho, Hawaii, and currently resides in Saratoga Springs, Utah. He served in the Argentina Rosario Mission in the mid-1980s. He graduated from BYU with a Bachelor's Degree in Spanish and Linguistics, later earned a Master's Degree in Computer Science, and has worked in the software industry for many years. From 2014 to 2022, he managed the computer systems used for Church translation. He has taught early morning seminary and evening Institute of Religion classes in various cities. He currently teaches classes in the Computer Science Department and in the Linguistics Department at BYU in addition to teaching in the Department of Ancient Scripture.
He and his wife, Jodi, have four sons and a yellow labrador retriever, Everett. They love to garden, travel, and spend time with family.
