Biography

Matthew O. Richardson is a professor of Church History and Doctrine at Brigham Young University. He has served as BYU's Advancement Vice President (2014-2020) and an Associate Dean of Religious Education (2000-2004). He was the Second Counselor in the General Sunday School presidency (2009-2014) and as Mission President of the Minnesota Minneapolis Mission (2020-2023).

Research Interests

Professor Richardson researches and writes on gospel-related topics found in scripture and prophetic teaches. Included are Church organization and procedures as directed by prophets, seers, and revelators.

Teaching Interests

Professor Richardson teaches Living Prophets and Missionary Preparation. His main teaching areas are Living Prophets, Missionary Preparation, Doctrine and Covenants, and LDS Family and Marriage Relations.
