Michael J. Biggerstaff

Michael J. Biggerstaff is a scholar of the Hebrew Bible and the ancient Near East. He received a PhD in Near Eastern Languages and Cultures with a graduate interdisciplinary specialization in ancient Mediterranean religions from The Ohio State University, an MA in religion (Hebrew Bible) from Vanderbilt University, and a BA in ancient Near Eastern studies from Brigham Young University. Dr. Biggerstaff’s primary research interests focus on prophecy and prophetic writings in ancient Israel and across the ancient Near East, including their interpretation in Second Temple Judaism and early Christianity. He also researches topics relating to divination, magic, mythology, and religious diversity in the ancient world.
