Mike Harris grew up in Orem, Utah, and served a mission in Torreón, Mexico. He and his wife, Klea, are the parents of eight children and grandparents of two.
Mike is an instructor in the Ancient Scripture Department at Brigham Young University. Before coming to BYU he spent twenty years teaching seminary and nine years at the Utah Valley Institute of Religion. He has a Ph.D. in Old Testament Biblical Studies and an M.A. in Biblical Studies from Amridge University, a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix, and a B.A. in Spanish from Brigham Young University. His dissertation treated Isaiah 13, and he is particularly interested in how the Bible and Book of Mormon "shall grow together" (2 Nephi 3:12).
Mike enjoys pickleball, Scrabble, and push-up contests.
