Robyn S. Spears received a BS in zoology (pre-medicine) from Brigham Young University and her MA and PhD in history from the University of Arkansas. Before joining the religion faculty at BYU, she taught Institute for two years in Northwest Arkansas and the history of medicine at the University of Arkansas. Dr. Spears has authored manuscripts and articles about women outside of North America who joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her research centers on women who chose to follow Jesus Christ despite immense opposition and who never knew Palmyra, Kirtland, Independence, Nauvoo, or the Rocky Mountains. As a biographer, her research centers on previously underrepresented, important women of Church history to promote a global understanding of Heavenly Father’s plan of happiness. Robyn and her husband, Greg, are the parents of five children and reside in Springville, Utah.
