Biography
Just before coming to BYU, Ryan Gardner taught for 14 years at BYU-Idaho in Rexburg, Idaho, where one of his most enduring assignments was as the faculty advisor for the Interfaith Leadership Society. Before that, he taught for 14 years in Seminaries & Institutes in Heber Valley, Utah. His final assignment with S&I was working on seminary and institute curriculum. He has degrees from University of Wyoming (English), Brigham Young University (Religious Education), and Utah State University (Curriculum and Instruction). He is especially interested in modern Church history, particularly the lives and ministries of the Presidents of the Church. He and his wife Kathryn have been married for 31 years and are the parents of six children and grandparents of five grandchildren. He enjoys college football and basketball (Go Cougs!) and is passionate about birding.
